Igniting Your Fire of Creative Genius

- By : Lance Winslow -

There is a creative genius in every one of us, just as Michelangelo said there is a work of art inside every stone, and his job was to free it. Well it's your life, and your mind, and it's time that you ignite your fire and free your creative genius. It's time that you open your mind and use your childlike imagination. It's time for you to think both logically and creatively, and not one or the other.

It's amazing what both hemispheres of the mind can do when they work together. One side has unbelievable amounts of information stored, which is linked to all the logical, strategic, and decision-making tools. The other side has the ability to take all that information and make it into something beautiful and wonderful. Creative problem solving is one of the biggest gifts to the intuitive mind.

Far too often, people fail to use their imagination, and develop their creative genius, and they go through life just acting upon stimulus. They go to their 9-to-5 job, they come home and watch TV, they make dinner and they go to sleep, then they get up and they do it over and over again, each and every day. Their minds become numb and the television set lights them up for 30 minutes and then drops them off, but they become addicted to the sights and sounds, the chaos and controversy, and the noise and fury, signifying nothingness.

This is not what your life was intended, this is not what you are about, this is not why you have such a powerful and creative mind. But just like a muscle; "you either use it or lose it." Isn't it time that you started using your creative genius? Why not start today? Please consider this, it's time to wake up.

How Old is Your Comfort Zone? The Older the Better!

-By : Gina Bell-

One of my favorite coaching analogies is to compare our comfort zone to the age rings found on a cross section of tree trunk.

Every time we stretch our comfort zone it's like we have a new "age ring"... a new level of awareness; greater self-esteem; more confidence, more wisdom from each experience; we become better at making decisions that support our success and we're open to new opportunities (often ones that were always there we just couldn't see them yet!)

With each new level of awareness, we are faced with new obstacles. For example, limiting beliefs that were once invisible to us rise to the surface.

This can be good or bad depending on our ability to identify them quickly and regain momentum in spite of them. This is a skill that is essential for long term success.

So, how do you identify limiting beliefs?

The best strategy I've found is to create "CONTRAST".

First, you have to be crystal clear about your definition of success. This gets your inner voice chattering and providing commentary that becomes the contrast you need to weed out your limiting beliefs.

Next, you have to pay close attention to your self-talk, best known as your inner critic (statistics say 80% of our self-talk is negative - yikes!). The self-talk and mind commentary leaves clues to our belief systems.

Finally, you have to choose which beliefs you'll keep and which ones you'll let go. Yup, I said "choose". We can choose our beliefs. If a belief doesn't support your success... let it go or replace it with one that does.

Your beliefs determine your thoughts, dictate your habits and influence your decisions. Does your belief system support your success or could there be some invisible saboteurs lurking?

Consider these two questions to test if limiting beliefs may be keeping you stuck.

1. Are you NOT doing things that you know you should be doing to support your success and are frustrated to feel stuck this way?

2. Are you doing things you know you shouldn't be doing that sabotage your success and wonder why you keep doing them?

If limiting beliefs and negative self-talk are keeping you stuck or derailing your momentum, stay tuned for my next Believability Makeover Program... coming soon!

Who Are You With?

-By : Stefan Johnson-

"It ain't about who you know. It's about who you with."

I was reading a book last night while listening to some music, when a particular song began playing which caught my immediate attention. Not only did this song have me put down my book and get 'crunk' for a good five minutes, it actually provides the answer to the questions of why you are where you currently are in life, and how you can speed up your success or failure in everything you do.

The song which provides the answer to these questions is called 'Who You Wit!' by Lil Jon and The Eastside Boyz. There is actually a very successful message behind all of that 'noise'. In the words of...well...myself, "It ain't about who you know. It's about who you with!" I added the exclamation point at the end of that quote because I'm listening to Lil Jon's song on repeat as I write this, and if you know Lil Jon's music then you know why!

Back to the message however, who you know is of little significance in comparison to who you with! If you want to get in great physical, spiritual, emotional, and financial shape in life, it is important that you keep proper and matching circles within your circle of association. The likely reason people lose and get out of shape in life is because they contain too many squares within their circles. Do your best to understand the last two sentences.

You may have huge goals and high aspirations for yourself, but the odds that you will succeed are stacked against you if your circle is filled with individuals who have no goals or aspirations, make excuses, bring you down in any way, and have no intention of becoming successful in any way. You may know many people, but you are really only 'with' a few. They could be family, best friends, mentors, business partners, and so forth. Believe it or not, these few individuals add up to be the average of your character.

It is important to align with proper circles because your association is your lifeline. I believe that warriors live and die by their swords while people live and die by their associations. One of the fastest and least talked about ways to reach success within your venture is to learn from the failures and successes of those who are already successful within your field of choice. I placed failures before successes because that's most likely the sequence of order when you do business, and the most valuable lessons for growth are learned within one's failures.

Surround yourself around someone long enough, and you will eventually adapt their principles and habits. No wonder the statement, 'the rich get richer and the poor get poorer' holds so much validity. I always say, "If you want something real bad, rock with those who got it or know how to get it while you're pursuing it, and you'll get it."

There is a secret to establishing an association of beneficial circles which is heavily underestimated, especially within our generation. If you don't have access to personal constant contact with your desired circles then the bookstores, libraries, and internet should by your second home. Books are the keys to building your association of successful circles. I believe that those who dislike reading severely underestimate the value of knowledge, and/or must also dislike engaging in conversation with other people.

I look at reading like this; you are actually being spoken to when you read! I could be doing anything in the world as you are reading this, but I am still having a conversation with your mind this very minute. I bet you never thought about it like that before huh? Yeah I know. Do you see how we are having a conversation right now? Cool huh? This is the power of reading.

Your successful association of great circles is just a few books away. What better way to pick the brains of someone and know what they know, than to read their books? It ain't about who you know. It's about who you're with! Choose to be with those who prove to be beneficial towards your progression. Choose to be with those who believe in, love, and support you. Choose to be with those who are in alignment with your life's mission and where you're trying to go.

Get your circle in shape with beneficial and similar circles. Stay in shape by exercising your mind daily through constant conversation with your association; through reading. A day without exercising the mind is a day of smoking a pack of cigarettes; you're just killing yourself slowly. The way out of ignorance is through knowledge. The way to knowledge is through people, books, and an oath to everlasting learning.

However, knowledge without application is a virus. I read a Chinese cookie which went something like, "To know something and not do anything with that knowledge is not to know anything at all." In the words of Lil Jon, 'Get Crunk!' by taking massive action with everything you learn to reach your success, happiness, and prosperity, and bless others. Don't lose out because of any squares in your circle. It's not about who you know. It's about who you with!

God Bless You

Purpose? Find Yours!

By Sharon Eden

I'm writing this on the veranda overlooking the grounds, lake and woodlands of my 'away from it all' place. I'm spending time reading, writing, reflecting... and getting up late. I miss breakfast time but it's totally worth the joy of not needing to be up at any particular time!

And as I write, I'm remembering a recent telephone conversation with a colleague. We were discussing living our respective passions, what stirs us, what enthuses us, what pulls us forward whether we know it or not.

And these words seem paltry compared with the sensational inside YEEESSS! you feel when you're on track with yourself and your purpose. There's no vocabulary for this or the certain uncertainty which accompanies you when you tread a path you've never trod before... yet you know 'this is it'!

Our conversation also reminded me of the many times I've said 'NO!' to that urging, that which captures my attention and tugs at me to follow the sign even if I don't understand what it's about or exactly where it's going. The times when I've raised my eyes to heaven, and still do, yelling, "Haven't I done enough already?!"

The answer is of course "No!"... Because my purpose unfolds and develops just as I unfold and develop as a person. The ways in which I can express my purpose change over time as I change and grow. So there's always something else to be done... which is exciting!

It's also more than just a bit flipping scary!

But when I think back to my earlier life when I stuck to the straight and narrow, did what was expected of me, behaved as I imagined I was supposed to behave... you know the rest! Although I was 'living dead', I was also in pain, a restlessness, a feeling and cognition that 'there had to be more to life than this'. And of course there was and is.

So, if you sit very quietly with yourself you might just hear your own restlessness, your own inner 'voice' calling you to what floats your boat even if you don't quite know what that is right now. What you're most likely to do is to tell yourself it's nonsense.

I remember when I wanted to do a degree my ex husband saying to me that I should have thought about that before I got married. And that's one of the kind of excuses you can give yourself... that it's too late, it's not the right time as if there's ever a right time! or who do you think you are to be different... or even "Who me?! I can't do that."

And even when you know your purpose and passion, you can still trick yourself by using the same old cruddy excuses. I know because I can still do that to myself sometimes!

However, the truth is following your passion, being successful at what you be-do, doesn't necessarily mean you have to overthrow your current life at all... or if you want to that it has to be done in one almighty tumultuous crisis. Although of course that's up to you!

What it does mean is you start living dangerously exactly from the point where you are in your life right now. You get a sense that there's something for you to be-do in the world, however small or large that is. Whether that's growing African Violets or nurturing your children or becoming the next Anita Roddick... or all three!

And despite the scariness, I promise you you'll feel skin prickingly alive if you do... trusting the not-knowing and how little by little, if you don't already know them, it'll show you your passion and your way forward... for now!

Here are some questions to start juicing up your purpose and passion...

#1 What billboard attracts your attention and what message does it give you?

#2 What subjects did you love at school... even if you didn't pursue them?

#3 What are you doing when you feel most alive and enthusiastic?

Look for the theme or themes running through your answers and you're right on track for uncovering your own purpose and passion!
