Make Your Decisions Quickly

- By : Reggie Odom -

How quickly do you make decisions? How do you make them?

We have the opportunity to make hundreds of decisions every day. Decisiveness or lack of it impacts the success of every area of your life - your business, relationships, creativity, health and finances.

Leaders in life and successful business leaders make decisions quickly. Decisiveness is a key factor in success and leadership.

In most cases we know the right course immediately for any decision we are faced with. It is universal law that the right decision is present at the moment the opportunity for the decision arises. Thanks to an exquisite internal guidance system we simply know the right one if we are tuned in.

That moment of knowing is a window of enormous opportunity. It is filled with clarity, power, certainty, transformation... These things become ours for the deciding.

A decision ignites the forces of heaven to come to the fore on our behalf in carrying out the decision. It brings us into alignment with these forces, taps us into our inner resourcefulness and increases our confidence.

A real decision closes off all options besides itself. There are no loopholes, what ifs or back doors. It is a one-pointed focus. Here lies its power.

If you hesitate in that moment of knowing, a great opportunity is lost. Considerations rush in to fill the space. The internal debating committee rises up out of the dust and the mind noise begins. Ambivalence takes the reins and energy is depleted. Self doubt and uncertainty become ready companions.

There is a quote that speaks perfectly to this. "A house divided against itself cannot stand." The house is your mind. If it is in opposition to itself, its strength and power is lost. It is at the mercy of circumstances rather than the master of them.

Important decisions that need or want to be made cannot be overlooked. They make their way into the nooks and crannies of your life. They will distract you from whatever you have placed in front of them.

What are important decisions you haven't made that distract you on a regular basis? Imagine what you might accomplish in your life and work by being decisive. How life could be with the clear mind that comes from this way of being.

Will you make one of those decisions now? Which one?

Make it a habit to make decisions quickly. Practice making decisions in the moment, real decisions. At the moment the opportunity to make a decision is presented, check in with your internal guidance system, follow its truth and make the decision quickly.

Step Into Your Greatness...Make decisions quickly!

Igniting Your Fire of Creative Genius

- By : Lance Winslow -

There is a creative genius in every one of us, just as Michelangelo said there is a work of art inside every stone, and his job was to free it. Well it's your life, and your mind, and it's time that you ignite your fire and free your creative genius. It's time that you open your mind and use your childlike imagination. It's time for you to think both logically and creatively, and not one or the other.

It's amazing what both hemispheres of the mind can do when they work together. One side has unbelievable amounts of information stored, which is linked to all the logical, strategic, and decision-making tools. The other side has the ability to take all that information and make it into something beautiful and wonderful. Creative problem solving is one of the biggest gifts to the intuitive mind.

Far too often, people fail to use their imagination, and develop their creative genius, and they go through life just acting upon stimulus. They go to their 9-to-5 job, they come home and watch TV, they make dinner and they go to sleep, then they get up and they do it over and over again, each and every day. Their minds become numb and the television set lights them up for 30 minutes and then drops them off, but they become addicted to the sights and sounds, the chaos and controversy, and the noise and fury, signifying nothingness.

This is not what your life was intended, this is not what you are about, this is not why you have such a powerful and creative mind. But just like a muscle; "you either use it or lose it." Isn't it time that you started using your creative genius? Why not start today? Please consider this, it's time to wake up.

Hit Your Head : SUDOKU

Hi, Want to try something that will do something to your brain? Then get a hit.

How Old is Your Comfort Zone? The Older the Better!

-By : Gina Bell-

One of my favorite coaching analogies is to compare our comfort zone to the age rings found on a cross section of tree trunk.

Every time we stretch our comfort zone it's like we have a new "age ring"... a new level of awareness; greater self-esteem; more confidence, more wisdom from each experience; we become better at making decisions that support our success and we're open to new opportunities (often ones that were always there we just couldn't see them yet!)

With each new level of awareness, we are faced with new obstacles. For example, limiting beliefs that were once invisible to us rise to the surface.

This can be good or bad depending on our ability to identify them quickly and regain momentum in spite of them. This is a skill that is essential for long term success.

So, how do you identify limiting beliefs?

The best strategy I've found is to create "CONTRAST".

First, you have to be crystal clear about your definition of success. This gets your inner voice chattering and providing commentary that becomes the contrast you need to weed out your limiting beliefs.

Next, you have to pay close attention to your self-talk, best known as your inner critic (statistics say 80% of our self-talk is negative - yikes!). The self-talk and mind commentary leaves clues to our belief systems.

Finally, you have to choose which beliefs you'll keep and which ones you'll let go. Yup, I said "choose". We can choose our beliefs. If a belief doesn't support your success... let it go or replace it with one that does.

Your beliefs determine your thoughts, dictate your habits and influence your decisions. Does your belief system support your success or could there be some invisible saboteurs lurking?

Consider these two questions to test if limiting beliefs may be keeping you stuck.

1. Are you NOT doing things that you know you should be doing to support your success and are frustrated to feel stuck this way?

2. Are you doing things you know you shouldn't be doing that sabotage your success and wonder why you keep doing them?

If limiting beliefs and negative self-talk are keeping you stuck or derailing your momentum, stay tuned for my next Believability Makeover Program... coming soon!

Who Are You With?

-By : Stefan Johnson-

"It ain't about who you know. It's about who you with."

I was reading a book last night while listening to some music, when a particular song began playing which caught my immediate attention. Not only did this song have me put down my book and get 'crunk' for a good five minutes, it actually provides the answer to the questions of why you are where you currently are in life, and how you can speed up your success or failure in everything you do.

The song which provides the answer to these questions is called 'Who You Wit!' by Lil Jon and The Eastside Boyz. There is actually a very successful message behind all of that 'noise'. In the words of...well...myself, "It ain't about who you know. It's about who you with!" I added the exclamation point at the end of that quote because I'm listening to Lil Jon's song on repeat as I write this, and if you know Lil Jon's music then you know why!

Back to the message however, who you know is of little significance in comparison to who you with! If you want to get in great physical, spiritual, emotional, and financial shape in life, it is important that you keep proper and matching circles within your circle of association. The likely reason people lose and get out of shape in life is because they contain too many squares within their circles. Do your best to understand the last two sentences.

You may have huge goals and high aspirations for yourself, but the odds that you will succeed are stacked against you if your circle is filled with individuals who have no goals or aspirations, make excuses, bring you down in any way, and have no intention of becoming successful in any way. You may know many people, but you are really only 'with' a few. They could be family, best friends, mentors, business partners, and so forth. Believe it or not, these few individuals add up to be the average of your character.

It is important to align with proper circles because your association is your lifeline. I believe that warriors live and die by their swords while people live and die by their associations. One of the fastest and least talked about ways to reach success within your venture is to learn from the failures and successes of those who are already successful within your field of choice. I placed failures before successes because that's most likely the sequence of order when you do business, and the most valuable lessons for growth are learned within one's failures.

Surround yourself around someone long enough, and you will eventually adapt their principles and habits. No wonder the statement, 'the rich get richer and the poor get poorer' holds so much validity. I always say, "If you want something real bad, rock with those who got it or know how to get it while you're pursuing it, and you'll get it."

There is a secret to establishing an association of beneficial circles which is heavily underestimated, especially within our generation. If you don't have access to personal constant contact with your desired circles then the bookstores, libraries, and internet should by your second home. Books are the keys to building your association of successful circles. I believe that those who dislike reading severely underestimate the value of knowledge, and/or must also dislike engaging in conversation with other people.

I look at reading like this; you are actually being spoken to when you read! I could be doing anything in the world as you are reading this, but I am still having a conversation with your mind this very minute. I bet you never thought about it like that before huh? Yeah I know. Do you see how we are having a conversation right now? Cool huh? This is the power of reading.

Your successful association of great circles is just a few books away. What better way to pick the brains of someone and know what they know, than to read their books? It ain't about who you know. It's about who you're with! Choose to be with those who prove to be beneficial towards your progression. Choose to be with those who believe in, love, and support you. Choose to be with those who are in alignment with your life's mission and where you're trying to go.

Get your circle in shape with beneficial and similar circles. Stay in shape by exercising your mind daily through constant conversation with your association; through reading. A day without exercising the mind is a day of smoking a pack of cigarettes; you're just killing yourself slowly. The way out of ignorance is through knowledge. The way to knowledge is through people, books, and an oath to everlasting learning.

However, knowledge without application is a virus. I read a Chinese cookie which went something like, "To know something and not do anything with that knowledge is not to know anything at all." In the words of Lil Jon, 'Get Crunk!' by taking massive action with everything you learn to reach your success, happiness, and prosperity, and bless others. Don't lose out because of any squares in your circle. It's not about who you know. It's about who you with!

God Bless You

You Have a Gift, What is It?

-By: Richard Butler-

What is a gift? It is something that is given for free... There is nothing to be exchanged. It is given intentionally for some reasons. For us humans, normally we give gifts on special occasions or for special someones. When we talk about occasions, gifts are given on birthdays, graduation, weddings, anniversaries and many more. But there are times that we give gifts for no special reason, we just like to give. I always remember times when I had my vacation, I definitely had something to give to my parents and friends. No reason, I simply wanted to give them something. All people have the tendency to do that, right?

Life is not a matter of chance as most people claim. We have our own path to take, our destiny. We have the option to destroy it or fulfill it. That's is why there is what we call "FREE WILL".

This is what this article is all about. As humans, we are created for a purpose, a special purpose! As the bible says, God wants us to live a life full of abundance. God don't want us to be poor, that's reality. But if you will analyze the world now, most lives are destroyed. It's because we have not chosen the best option. Each person has a gift which he or she can use to succeed. Name it, there are professionals, skilled individuals, creative minds, extraordinary talents, exceptional planners etc. This are all gifts. There is a skill that we personally possess. You know what skill that is in you!

Now, you have a gift which you can use to fulfill your destiny, on the hand you have the free will to choose. Just a reminder, free will, could change your life in a instant, it could make your life better or ruin it in a glimpse of an eye. Use your gift wisely. At the same time, use also your gift to control your free will. Again, you have a special gift. Use it to succeed and not to ruin your life.

On our world today, you probably can't understand why successful people commit suicide. Professional actors, top businessmen take their lives and just loose up everything they have started. Money is there but happiness it not. Success is not about having lots of money, it's about being happy with all those resources that we have.

Money is there but happiness it not

Before you succeed, check your life. Know what's the special gift within you. Use it properly and fulfill your destiny. Always remember, God's wants us to have a life full of abundance!

Purpose? Find Yours!

By Sharon Eden

I'm writing this on the veranda overlooking the grounds, lake and woodlands of my 'away from it all' place. I'm spending time reading, writing, reflecting... and getting up late. I miss breakfast time but it's totally worth the joy of not needing to be up at any particular time!

And as I write, I'm remembering a recent telephone conversation with a colleague. We were discussing living our respective passions, what stirs us, what enthuses us, what pulls us forward whether we know it or not.

And these words seem paltry compared with the sensational inside YEEESSS! you feel when you're on track with yourself and your purpose. There's no vocabulary for this or the certain uncertainty which accompanies you when you tread a path you've never trod before... yet you know 'this is it'!

Our conversation also reminded me of the many times I've said 'NO!' to that urging, that which captures my attention and tugs at me to follow the sign even if I don't understand what it's about or exactly where it's going. The times when I've raised my eyes to heaven, and still do, yelling, "Haven't I done enough already?!"

The answer is of course "No!"... Because my purpose unfolds and develops just as I unfold and develop as a person. The ways in which I can express my purpose change over time as I change and grow. So there's always something else to be done... which is exciting!

It's also more than just a bit flipping scary!

But when I think back to my earlier life when I stuck to the straight and narrow, did what was expected of me, behaved as I imagined I was supposed to behave... you know the rest! Although I was 'living dead', I was also in pain, a restlessness, a feeling and cognition that 'there had to be more to life than this'. And of course there was and is.

So, if you sit very quietly with yourself you might just hear your own restlessness, your own inner 'voice' calling you to what floats your boat even if you don't quite know what that is right now. What you're most likely to do is to tell yourself it's nonsense.

I remember when I wanted to do a degree my ex husband saying to me that I should have thought about that before I got married. And that's one of the kind of excuses you can give yourself... that it's too late, it's not the right time as if there's ever a right time! or who do you think you are to be different... or even "Who me?! I can't do that."

And even when you know your purpose and passion, you can still trick yourself by using the same old cruddy excuses. I know because I can still do that to myself sometimes!

However, the truth is following your passion, being successful at what you be-do, doesn't necessarily mean you have to overthrow your current life at all... or if you want to that it has to be done in one almighty tumultuous crisis. Although of course that's up to you!

What it does mean is you start living dangerously exactly from the point where you are in your life right now. You get a sense that there's something for you to be-do in the world, however small or large that is. Whether that's growing African Violets or nurturing your children or becoming the next Anita Roddick... or all three!

And despite the scariness, I promise you you'll feel skin prickingly alive if you do... trusting the not-knowing and how little by little, if you don't already know them, it'll show you your passion and your way forward... for now!

Here are some questions to start juicing up your purpose and passion...

#1 What billboard attracts your attention and what message does it give you?

#2 What subjects did you love at school... even if you didn't pursue them?

#3 What are you doing when you feel most alive and enthusiastic?

Look for the theme or themes running through your answers and you're right on track for uncovering your own purpose and passion!

Tomorrow is Tomorrow

-By: Jen Cooper-

Most self-help books will tell you when you are feeling bad to remind yourself that tomorrow is another day. And so it is. But if you expect that tomorrow will be any different from today, and then continue to do the same things and think the same thoughts, then you are in for a sad surprise.

Tomorrow is tomorrow. It is the day after the one you are living today. It has the potential to be the most amazing day you have ever experienced. But potential can only be realised with at least a little bit of effort. Coasting into tomorrow on the winds of today will only guarantee you more of the same. Which is fine if you are going in a direction that you want to be going.

If you are stalled, or going in the wrong direction, then your experience will only change with a bit of a nudge. Often, you will get the nudge from an unexpected source, and find yourself riding the currents of an adventure, pleasant or otherwise.

And therein lies the danger of leaving yourself at the whim of life. You can never really be sure which direction it will take you, left to its own devices. So taking control of the 'nudge factor' on a daily basis will help keep you aligned to where you want to be. That will help keep 'tomorrow' a positive place.

If you don't have a clue what tomorrow might hold for you, or if you are sure it has nothing good in store, why would you look forward to it? Sure, it's a blank page, but if your mind is ready with lots of negative things to fill it with, tomorrow is hardly an appealing destination.

So how do you become your own 'nudger'? Well, it's important to remember to be gentle with yourself. You want to give yourself a nudge, not a shove. It might be true that you need a shove, particularly if you have settled into an easy, but ultimately unhappy groove. That is not what we are talking about here, though. We will discuss how and when to shove a little later. For now, we are focusing on the everyday thoughts and feelings that help put hope into life.

To have hope is to have some sense that things will work out ok, regardless of how we might think or feel right now. With that underlying foundation, enduring the bleak times becomes much easier. So remind yourself that, from a larger perspective than it will ever be possible for you to see, things actually will work out ok. Time will continue and one way or another the dramas we agonize over will resolve themselves and we will either experience them or not. Time will continue and we will have new, more interesting dramas to agonize over, and we will either experience them or not.

Think about what makes you happy and where you want your life to be. What are the important aspects of that picture? The big-ticket items that would dissolve the whole rosy scene should they disappear? For most people, those things are family and loved ones, fulfilling work, a comfortable place to live. They are different for everybody, though. These are the things that you should nudge your life towards. Spend time and energy solidifying those things in your life.

This is really very simple. It just involves spending some time and energy on those things. Your home is important to you? Spend time gardening or decorating. Family important? Spend time having new adventures, exploring new places with your children.

But here is the important part. Enjoy it in the moment. Revel in the experience of enjoying something that is central to your life. Catch yourself and notice that you are smiling as you watch your baby waddle past with his wet nappy sagging down to his knees. Enjoy that moment consciously, before you pick him up and change him. It will make the quality of your interaction with him a little bit more delicious.

Your day is made up of countless moments that can be savored and turned into tiny boosts to your spirit. This can translate into a massive boost to your mood that will travel with you wherever you choose to go.

So you're a grump

Sometimes we behave in ways that we know, even as we are acting, are not going to accomplish our goals. Moods can overcome us and we find ourselves snapping at co-workers or family, and instantly feeling guilty about it. The guilt doesn't necessarily stop us from continuing the behavior, though. In fact, it can lead directly to more of the same as we turn in a self-fulfilling spiral of shame and vigorous denial.

We can rationalize the behavior away with 'I didn't get enough sleep last night", or "I'm under enormous amounts of stress right now", but that doesn't stop the guilt, either. So a vicious cycle of guilt and grump develops.

So you realize that you are grumpy and don't want to be, but feel caught up in the emotion of it all. What to?

Start by relaxing. So what if you are a bit grumpy. We are working on changing that, so don't stress. You are a work in progress, remember?

It may be a cliche, but it's also true. Every human is working on becoming who they are (whether they know it or not), and every human has moments when they are not exactly showing the world their best. So what? Move on.

Do make amends if you have really messed up, or behaved particularly badly, but don't dwell.

Beating yourself up over being less than you want to be is like being angry with a child for falling over while she learns to walk. Remind yourself that you are only showing the world a small part of who you are right now, and living a full life includes letting out sides of yourself that you might not be thrilled with.

How else do you expect to learn about all of who are if you don't even want to meet the bits of you that you know you wont like.

Everyone has aspects of themselves that they keep hidden - not just from others, but most importantly from themselves. These are the things that will usually pop up and bite us in the bum when we can least use it.

An interesting thing to realize about these horrible parts of us is that while you might think that you are keeping them hidden, the reality is that it is they that are keeping you hidden.

The things that we judge most harshly about ourselves help keep us locked in a life that we don't want to be living. If we have too many dark and mysterious parts, they eventually close in on us, making our world very small indeed and preventing us from doing the things that we want to do with life. Hiding from the world who it is we really are.

More often than not, people will opt for the safe option of blocking out or avoiding the things about themselves that they find most difficult or confronting to feel. Avoidance as a strategy can be very productive. It can produce the sort of life that will have you standing on constantly shifting ground and will make certain that you are never quite sure you have a handle on your life.

If this is not the type of productivity you are after, it is probably wiser to develop a healthy relationship with all of your alter egos. And that will mean letting them out from time to time.

The key is to try and find the right worker for the right job. If you are intimately acquainted with all of the aspects of yourself, it will be easier to find a response to the world that fits both you and the situation at any given time.

Anger may well be your best response in a given situation, but if you are used to blocking or avoiding any angry feelings, you will never feel comfortable having an honest angry response. This makes it very easy for that screeching banshee witch - the one that surprises you every time you get really angry - to appear and take over for you.

By actively, consciously getting to know every part of yourself - even the parts that you don't think you like - the prospect of being unhappily surprised by your own behavior can disappear entirely.
